Terri
Wintermute (Plainfield)

Terri Ann Wintermute is the Republican candidate for the 42nd
State Senate District. As a wife, mother, and community leader she has earned a
reputation for being a responsive government servant who connects with voters in
this district.
Public Servant --
Wintermute’s extensive experience as a public servant ranges from local
government to the ranks of state government.
Her first elected position was the Clerk of DuPage Township, a position
she held from 1992 to 1996. During that time, Wintermute also worked as the
Legislative Assistant for State Representative Jim Meyer (R-Naperville).
County
Government
--
In 1996, Wintermute was elected to the Will County Board.
For ten years she served on the Land Use, Zoning and Development
Committee and was Chair of that important committee for eight years.
Terri was also a member of the County’s Executive Committee and the Will
County Forest Preserve. In 2006, Terri
gave up her County Board
position to seek election to the Illinois Senate.
From 1998
to 2002, Wintermute served on the Northeastern Illinois Planning Commission as
the Will County Representative serving on the Water Resources Committee.
Municipal Government
-- Wintermute was hired in 2002 as the Economic Development
Coordinator for the Village of Bolingbrook.
During her tenure there, she assisted the Administration develop 8
million sq. ft. of new industrial development and over 1 million sq. ft. of new
retail development. She resigned
from this position in April 2006 to campaign full-time for State Senate.
Family
Business --
Wintermute is also very hands-on in
her family's Logistics firm, Chicagoland Quad Cities Express, Inc. As Senior
Vice President and Secretary-Treasurer of the Board of Directors, she is
responsible for sales and marketing, union negotiations, and oversees the
company's banking and insurance requirements. The company has 75
employees and operates a trucking and logistics business with 500,000 sq. ft. of
buildings in Bridgeview and Bedford
Park, Illinois.
Personal

Terri Wintermute resides in
Will
County with her husband,
Phil. The two have three grown children, Angela (27 married to Michael Parent),
P.J. (25), and Todd (23), and one granddaughter, Kadin.
(Grandson Michael, Jr. is expected to arrive end of May of 2008.)
Phil and Terri celebrated their 30th
wedding anniversary this year. They
attend St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Plainfield, IL.
