Peg Mosgers
(Chicago)

Peg Laird
Mosgers is currently the Deputy Director of the Illinois Senate
Republican Committee Staff. Peg has served on the staff of the
Senate Republican Caucus for 20 years. During that time she has
become a specialist in ethics reform and election law as well as in
local government issues. Prior to joining the Illinois Senate, she
worked in Washington D.C. with Congressman John Grotberg (R-14) who
was Speaker Denny Hastert’s predecessor.
Peg has worked on numerous state legislative
campaigns as well as in the direct mail operation for Republican
Senate suburban races. She is one of the founders of Women Who Win
– a PAC in support of women candidates for executive office
(Statewide Constitutional officers and mayors). WWW was organized
in 2006 and supported the four women candidates for Governor,
Attorney General, Treasurer and Comptroller. We raised more than
$20,000 in the two months prior to the November election and
contributed the proceeds to the four women. Women Who Win will
continue to be active in future elections.
In 2004, Peg was elected
President of Chicago Women in Government Relations. CWGR is a group
of bi-partisan, professional women organized to meet bimonthly to
hear from the political players and those who work for them and
watch them. Membership is open to anyone who has an interest in
politics and government. During her year as President, CWGR heard
from Speakers such as former Governor Jim Thompson and media
professionals Madeline Doubek, Mike Flannery, Greg Hinz and Lynn
Sweet. She currently serves on the Board of Directors.
Peg is originally from Batavia and now lives
with her husband Woody on the Northwest side of Chicago.
