About The Lincoln Series
Founded in 1994, The Lincoln Series, formally The Illinois Lincoln Excellence in Public Service Series, provides leadership and campaign training to increase the number of Illinois Republican women in elected and appointed governmental and political positions at the local, state and federal levels. Offering two tracks, Leadership and Empowerment, The Lincoln Series is a statewide network encouraging, supporting and training women for careers in politics and government.
The Leadership Track: To date, this original programming has graduated over 200 women, awarding a maximum of 10 fellowships on a yearly basis. Fellowship winners are selected into this elite program from a statewide field of applicants who have demonstrated leadership skills in their chosen fields of work or in service to their community. All must display a commitment to the Republican Party. Fellows pledge to seek a policy-making position in government or in the Republican party within five years of graduation and to help other women achieve similar positions. The Lincoln Series serves as a springboard for graduates to achieve new levels of professional achievement and public involvement.
The Empowerment Track: The Lincoln Series also offers Empowerment Training for candidates, party operatives, campaign volunteers and those interested in more information. Participants sign up for and attend only the training programs of interest to them. Providing long-term educational leadership coaching, campaign training, support and networking, the Empowerment Track trains and helps women work their way up the political ladder.
Both tracks enable women to proactively help themselves and our Party, including taking on leadership roles and stepping up to serve as leaders and spokespersons in positions and on issues of importance to them. Please visit the Programming page for more information.
All Republican women are invited to participate in our programs, with special benefits offered to those who officially join as members. While we encourage you to join The Lincoln Series to gain the maximum benefit, membership is not required. Please join our mailing list to be informed of The Lincoln Series' news and events throughout the year.
